To register for IELTS:

We suggest you read the brochure Information for Candidates (PDF).

Register online via the Online Registration System

  • Follow the instructions and fill in the IELTS online registration. An overview of the dates in Denmark can be seen under "Test Dates etc."

  • ID requirements: a) valid passport (of any country), or b) a National ID card (EU nationals only).
No other ID is accepted. A Danish residence permit is not a national ID and is not valid for IELTS.
If your signature is not on the ID we may ask proof of your signature.

  • Upload a good colour scan of your ID. If you get errors uploading it, try with a screenshot. Make sure you have  your passport with you on the test day, or you will not be admitted to the test.

  • Please check whether you are registering for "Speaking same day" or "Speaking other day" (Copenhagen). If the option of your choice is not available, it is either full or not set up for that test date. You can then note your preference on the waiting list here

  • You will receive an e-mail with payment information. Please make sure we receive payment no later than 5 days after your registration. Do not hold your payment until the uploaded passport has been confirmed.

  • When we have received payment and checked your ID you will receive a confirmation e-mail. Please allow some days for processing.

  • Fees: DKK 1.895 (Tórshavn DKK 2.450). If paying from a foreign bank account you must add DKK 50,-

  • Address details and detailed test day information will be sent to you by e-mail 1 week before your test date.

  • You can drop off documents (when applicable) or pick up your result letter (by prior arrangement) Monday-Friday from 09-12 and 13:15-16 hrs. Registration in person is not possible.

Special Needs Provisions

The IELTS test has been designed to be a fair test. Your English language ability will be assessed objectively, regardless of any disability that you may have. We make every effort to cater for the special needs of disabled candidates.
You will need to provide an original medical statement or certificate from a specialist, no older than 2 years, when you book your test. Whatever special provisions you need, please contact us at to discuss your special needs as soon as possible. If special materials are needed you must register no later than 3 months before the test date. It may not be possible to offer special arrangements at every test date.

As long as places are availabie for registration, they will be visible on the Online Registration System. However, we recommend to register in good time as the test is in high demand during certain times of the year. We do not recommend waiting to take an English test until you are admitted to a university. These admissions often come in June or July and by then you may not be able to take a test and get the desired result before study start in September.
Results are ready 13 days after the test day. Results will not be accessible or published earlier. You can pick up your letter by prior arrangement and will receive instructions about this.
