Not happy with your results? (Re-mark, re-take etc.)
There is no "pass" or "fail" for IELTS. You get a score between 0 and 9.0 and the organisations you apply to set their minimum requirements. This may be a minimum overall score, and/or a minimum score for each of the 4 parts of the test.
The equivalent of your IELTS score in the CEFR system (from A1-C2) is also printed on every test report. (CEFR: Common European Frame of Reference).
Test Results - available from 1 day after your test
IELTS on computer
Your IELTS scores will usually be available online 1-5 calendar days after your test date. You can download your test report (eTRF or electronic test report form).
Electronic Test Report Form (eTRF)
You will receive your results electronically only. You can download the electronic version (eTRF) from the Test Taker portal. We will not issue an additional paper Test Report Form. (This does not apply to IELTS Life Skills for UKVI.)
Sending Results to Institutions
Please add the instution(s) in the Test Taker Portal to make your results available to a university or other institution.
Applicaion processes normally require you to upload a PDF and/or provide the number on your test report. The institution then verifies the score online.
If you are asked for the TRF (test report form) number, this is the number in the bottom right corner of your test report.
If you have any issues or questions please email ielts@edu-danmark.dk (Denmark) or ielts@edutesting.no (Norway).

Enquiry on Results
If you are not satisfied with your results, you have the option of a re-mark of (parts of) your test within 6 weeks of the test date. Our deadline for receiving payment and your application is some working days before. This costs DKK 950 / NOK 1000. The outcome of Enquiry on Result (EOR) can become available on the same day as your application and up to 21 days after your application.
Should your score improve as a result of this re-evaluation, the EOR fee will be refunded to you. If your result stays the same, you are not eligible for a refund.
To request an EOR, log in to the Test Taker Portal, choose Your results & Tests, choose the test date.
Retake one part of the test (IELTS One Skill Retake)
You can now repeat one single part per full test taken. This is called IELTS One Skill Retake. It must be taken within 60 days of the original test date in the same test centre and/or country. You will receive a new e-Test Report Form and you can choose whether you use your original or your new Test Report Form. Make sure you check that an OSR result is accepted where you want to apply.
To book an OSR, log in to the Test Taker Portal, choose Your results & Tests. If no dates are showing, please contact us - we may have availability for candidates who are just retaking one component.
Retake the test
You can take the test as many times as you wish, there is no waiting time. However, it should be noted that to significantly improve a score it may be necessary to engage in further study. IELTS research indicates that scores are unlikely to improve dramatically without extensive English language tuition in the interim.
To book a new test, log in to the Test Taker Portal.
